In the spirit of the holiday season, WP Rawl is playing its part in bringing joy to families serviced by Harvest Hope Food Bank in Columbia, S.C. through a donation of fresh produce to the local food bank.

It is a sad fact that fresh produce is oftentimes hard to come by or absent in food banks across the country, especially during the holidays. On Monday, WP Rawl donated five hundred mixed gift boxes of fresh produce to Harvest Hope which included yellow and butternut squash, cabbage, sweet potatoes, green onions, beets and leeks and zucchini.

Harvest Hope Food Bank CEO Denise Holland commented: “Harvest Hope Food Bank is so very thankful for the gift of 500 produce boxes which WP Rawl donated recently. These boxes, filled with beautiful produce, will be distributed to the many needy clients that we are currently assisting. The fresh produce will not only serve as part of a nutritious holiday meal, but for the nourishment of our clients prior to and after the holiday. This generous gift is a tremendous blessing to our clients who are suffering from hunger and, particularly, to those who are experiencing a greater level of need due to the recent flooding.”

The donation was made in honor of all of WP Rawl’s customers and employees as a thank you for their support.

“We are blessed as a family and as a company, and it is our year-round commitment to our global and local communities to share when we can,” said Ashley Rawl, vice president of sales, marketing and product development at WP Rawl. “It is always our goal to give back to those who need a little extra help, and particularly this year with the devastations our state suffered.”

WP Rawl’s year-long mission to end hunger leads them to give back to other organizations such as RAMP, the Rockin’ Appalachian Mom Project and Katie’s Krops, for whom the company sponsors an annual all-expenses paid summer camp.
