Despite a difficult second year in a row for German agriculture, BayWa has recorded an improvement in its results. The German multinational presented its annual figures for 2015, which revealed that its EBIT has increased from 152.1 million Euro to 158.1 million Euro.

The German giant is active in several sectors; most of the growth is accounted for by its energy branch, although considerable growth was also achieved by its agricultural branch. This segment reached 10.2 billion Euro in turnover. One of BayWa's activities in the agricultural sector is the trade of fruit. This segment showed a positive development, with sales amounting to 567.4 million Euro, compared to 563.9 million Euro a year earlier. The sale of New Zealand's large apple harvest contributed to this increase in turnover. The group expanded last year with an acquisition in Romania and the opening of new offices in Ukraine and Argentina.
