The mushrooms trade has had reasonably good Easter sales and the market is still in good balance. Arno van den Oord of mushroom wholesaler Champoord from Ammerzoden can't complain. "There is enough supply, but both the white mushrooms and the special varieties are selling well. It is steady and the prices vary from 1.50 to 1.80 Euro per kilo."
"All sales destinations are participating with the United Kingdom and Germany as important buyers. It shouldn't be too warm or too cold for the sales of mushrooms. So this weather is ideal. We will have to wait and see how the market continues, but we're positive," continues Arno. Champoord will soon start supplying the first bean sprouts.
