The department of industries & commerce and Kerala Commissionerate of Food Safety are organising an awareness workshop on food safety on April 29, 2016, at 10 am at the Centre Hotel, Panampilly Nagar, Kochi.
As per a release, the event is being organised to build awareness on food safety among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the food processing and allied sectors of the state. The department plans to promote food safety through such campaigns and sensitise the food processing and allied industries with regard to food safety issues to emphasise the need and their right for safe food for the public and promote food safety Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.
Officials from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and other experts in food processing sector will lead the classes.
