Texas-based food company Garland Ventures has issued a recall for around 114,870 pounds of chicken fried rice products over suspected listeria contamination.
The recalled products are 20 oz. pail boxes containing AllFresh Foods "ANJOY Chicken Fried Rice."
The heat-treated, not fully cooked chicken fried rice products are not shelf stable too. These products were produced on several dates between 24 September 2015 and 23 March 2016.
The affected product codes are 092415, 092915, 100215, 101325, 101615, 102015, 102715, 110315, 110615 and 032316. The recalled products carry establishment number "P-31993", which is present inside the USDA inspection mark.
Garland Ventures has distributed these products to retail distributor locations across Colorado, Georgia, Missouri, and Utah.
The problem was identified when Garland Ventures was informed about the usage of frozen foods involved in CRF Frozen Foods' recall by their supplier of vegetable fried rice, Ajinomoto Windsor.
Last week, Washington-based CRF Frozen Foods had voluntarily recalled frozen vegetable items due to listeria outbreak.
However, there have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions due to consumption of Garland Ventures' products, according to the company.
The company is undertaking the voluntary recall in association with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The expanded recall included all the frozen organic and traditional fruit, and vegetable products manufactured or processed in CRF Frozen Foods' Pasco facility since 1 May 2014. The recalled list included around 358 products marketed under 42 different brands.
