Among the signed projects the same day, there were 5 first industrial projects, 67 second industrial projects and 29 third industrial projects.

The newly established crayfish research institute will fill the vacancy of crayfish study
During the festival, Hubei Crayfish Industrial Technology Institute was officially established in Qianjiang. And officials and experts visited the crayfish breeding and reproducing base of Hubei.
Suyaxin, the senior engineer from Hubei Aquatic Technology Institute, stated that fine breed and fry were the two technological problems at present. On one hand, the production scale of fine breed should be improved and to nurture strong disease-resistance crayfish while deal with the problems in single crayfish. On another hand, scale farming should be promoted and expanded with regard the fry.
He thought that foreign farming and breeding of crayfish already developed into professional and scientific stage, and Chinese crayfish industrial technological research still fell behind that. High-tech farming and natural biological farming were the two main methods of foreign crayfish breeding, and there were many species; as far as the Qianjiang crayfish’s concerned, not only the quality should be increased but also the innovation and breeding scale should be strengthened.
The newly established Crayfish Research Institute will fill the vacancy of crayfish study in China, integrating the advantageous resources from enterprises, colleges and universities and science and research institutes.
80 mu crayfish farming bring 900, 000 yuan annual income

Except for the 50, 000 yuan rent cost, the total annual income would reach more than 900, 000 yuan. He also told our journalist that April was the peak season of crayfish fry whose price could be as high as 32 yuan/kg sometimes. The net income of one mu could reach 5, 000 yuan. It took 45 days for the crayfish fry to grow into mature fish and went to market, and half day later, the crayfish would be on the citizens’ dining table.
Crayfish works as a medium to drive economic development of Qianjian
Qianjiang is the place of origin of crayfish-rice co-farming mode in China. From 2001 to 2004, scientific and technical staff worked with the farmers to explore the co-farming mode. After four years of efforts, the mode was successfully put into practice and nurtured some new crayfish species.
The crayfish-rice co-farming mode brought new approaches to solve the problems of agricultural product quality, agricultural pollution and sustainable agricultural development. It promoted the industrial development of agricultural product processing enterprises and produced remarkable economic and social benefits.
The relevant statistics show that the co-farming area in Qianjiang increased to 350, 000 mu by the end of 2015. The comprehensive value of crayfish industry surpassed 15, 000 million yuan. The crawfish produced in Qianjiang was exported to more than 30 countries and regions, including America, European Union, Japan, Korea and so on. The export value reached 190 million yuan, topping the domestic crayfish export provinces for the 11th straight year.
After 15 years of development, Qianjiang crayfish has developed into a comprehensive industrial pattern, covering scientific research and demonstration, fine fry breeding, healthy farming, catering service, festival and cultural activities. Crayfish industry has already become the pillar industry and characteristic industry of Qianjian agricultural economy.
