According to the latest market report of the European Fruit Juice Association (AIJN), consumption of juices and nectars in Poland in 2015 amounted to 757 million litres, and thus increased by 8.3 percent compared to 2014. The Polish market stands out from other European markets, recording the highest increase in the consumption of juices and nectars in the past year. This is largely believed to be a result of the promotion and information activities carried out by the Association KUPS and the strong promotional campaigns of individual producers of juices and nectars in Poland.
The consumption of juices and nectars from fruits and vegetables in the EU countries in 2015 amounted to 9.631 billion litres and was 0.73 percent lower than in 2014; consumption growth was recorded only in the case of NFC juice (up 4.41 percent compared to 2014).
The leader in consumption is still Germany (24.8 percent), followed by France (15.6 percent), the United Kingdom (11.8 percent), Spain (9.7 percent) and Poland (8.3 percent).
The most popular flavours of juices and nectars in the EU are orange (36.7 percent), mixed fruit (19.4 percent), apple (15.1 percent), peach (3.5 percent) and pineapple (3.5 percent).
