During first weeks of August, market faces the lack of pomegranate supply. This year Israel is the first to start with early pomegranates. Hot summer and good weather conditions ensured a good quality of the fruit, according to Yoav Nakash from Galilee Export.
The Israeli exporting company offers pomegranates already from week 31. "The Emek variety is already available in wide choice of the sizes. And in a few weeks Akko, Hershkovitz varieties will start."
"The season has started early, and this this is a good surprise for the market. But the quality is even a better surprise. Pomegranates are looking very good both from inside and outside."
Prices are as expected. "We are looking forward to keep prices profitable for the grower, to reflect high long-lasting quality of the fruit."
