Adana, southern Turkey, produces 47,500 tons of pomegranates per year, 8.9% of the country’s total pomegranates.
According to the official statistics, in 2015, Turkey produced 445,750 tons of pomegranates in a 30,751 ha dedicated area. In Adana, the main pomegranate-cultivating region is its İmamoğlu district with a land size of 240 ha. Growers in another district, Uluçınar, produce 6000 tons organic pomegranates per year in an area of 148 ha.
