Last week, a total of 2, 146 KG frozen banded grouper (Epinephelus awoara) and 1, 036 KG frozen giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus) gained its access to Shijing port in Quanzhou through Wuzhouhuifeng boat, and it’s also the first time that Shijing had imported the two species of grouper in so many years.
Apart from the two kinds of grouper fish, the port also imported 1, 867 KG milkfish (Chanos chanos) at the same time and it’s also the first time that it had imported this kind of fish this year. Importers of the fish said that they were particularly satisfied with the fast customs clearance procedures and the quality of the commodities were all kept in good condition.
According to collected statistics, Quanzhou Customs, Shijing branch office has carried out 14, 000 tonnes and 0.13 billion worth of agricultural and aquatic products trading against Taiwan, up by 4.14% and 40.15% respectively. Small scale foods trading towards Taiwan was more than 2, 500 tonnes, whose value was more than 31 million yuan, growing by 47.14% and 139.15% respectively.
