The recalled product is 2-lb. plastic sleeve packages containing “BREAKFAST Best FULLY COOKED ORIGINAL PORK SAUSAGE PATTIES,” with a sell-by date of 05/15/2018. The products subject to recall have the establishment number “EST. 17479T” above the sell by date. The firm’s testing indicated positive results for the pathogenic bacteria. The products were on hold at a distribution center but were inadvertently shipped.

If you purchased this product do not eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the store where you bought it for a full refund. Wash your hands after handling this product, and clean out your refrigerator or freezer with a mild bleach solution to kill any bacteria.

If you ate this product, watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include fever, stiff neck, severe headache, nausea, and diarrhea. Pregnant women may only be mildly sick with an illness similar to the flu, but listeriosis can cause miscarriage and stillbirth. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
