The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF), published on Tuesday the official standard that allows access to the satsuma mandarin produced in Peru.

He stressed that this good news was the result of the joint and coordinated management between the Ministries of Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, and Foreign Trade, through Ocex in Japan, as well as of the work done by the Procitrus guild, which brings together producers of lemon, oranges, tangerines and other citrus fruits.

Minister Mostajo, the second vice-president of the Republic, Mercedes Araoz; the president of Adex, Juan Varilias; the deputy minister of Agrarian Policies, William Arteaga; and the Deputy Minister of Development and Agricultural Infrastructure and Irrigation, Pablo Aranibar, inaugurated the Peru Regions pavilion of the Food Expo 2018, which will house more than 40 producers from different regions.

Varilias said that the food export industry currently generated employment for 1.6 million Peruvians and that the goal for 2021 was to generate 4.2 million jobs.

He also said that the exporters were working to export 8 billion dollars of food by the end of 2018 and 15 billion in 2021.
