The Orri Running Committee (ORC) presented the new image of the Orri premium mandarin variety as part of a new communication and marketing strategy of the Orri Tangerine Producers Association. The new image aims at promoting the fruit's characteristics and increasing its potential to conquer new markets. This new image aims to “increase the recognition of the variety as a leading mandarin in the sector, and help consumers identify it at the different points of sale.”
In recent years, this mandarin's recognition has soared in the productive sector and at the consumer level, so the association is convinced that there are still many commercial opportunities to exploit. It has excellent organoleptic qualities, it's easy to peel, has healthy attributes and an extraordinary shelf life, which facilitates exporting it to multiple markets.
The Orri Mandarin Producers Association has started “a new stage in its promotional activity with the clear objective of increasing the demand for the product and its sales.”
Nearly 52.1 million kilos of the premium Orri variety were marketed in its fourth campaign. 31.70% of the mandarins sold correspond to the province of Huelva, 23.63% to the province of Valencia, 13.57% to Murcia, 10.98% to Castellon, 9.94% to Almeria, 5.68% to Alicante, and 4.5% to the province of Seville.
The ORC plans to maintain this upward trend in the next campaign, in which they expect to sell more than 55 million kilos.
