GH Foods CA LLC of Sacramento initiated the recall of about 940 pounds of salad yesterday, but did not name the supplier of the corn in the notice posted by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). Several other recalls announced this week also cite potentially contaminated corn from a third-party supplier, but none of those companies named the supplier.
The GH Foods CA recall includes ready-to-eat salads with chicken that were produced on various dates from Oct. 9 through 13. All of the salad products subject to the recall have the establishment number “EST. P-39994” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection on their labels. The Sacramento company shipped the salads to retail locations in California.
And then there is a Florida company that is recalling ready-to-eat salads as well. These are packaged under Walmart’s Marketside brand and are also recalled because they include this corn from a third-party supplier.
GHSE LLC of Green Cove Springs, Florida did a recall for 738 pounds of Marketside brand “Fiesta Salad with Steak.” The company shipped the salads to retailers in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, according to a notice posted by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) last night.
The Marketside salads subject to the GHSE recall were produced between Oct. 11 and 14. They are packaged in 15.25-ounce plastic clamshells with use-by dates from Oct. 17 through 20. The salad labels have the establishment number “EST. 45781” printed inside the USDA inspection mark.
