An executive meeting of the State Council on November 21st decided to continue the current policy of monitoring cross-border online trade. This policy was first implemented on January 1st, 2018. This decision means that products imported by online traders will be monitored as personal import, and are not subject to import approval, registration, or records.

Furthermore, the scope of this policy, which was originally applied only in 15 cities, including Hangzhou, is now extended to 22 cities, including Beijing, Shenyang, Nanjing, Wuhan, Xi'an, and Xiamen. These cities are newly established experimental districts for cross-border online trade.
