On Wednesday, January 16, the first ship of the year with 4,500 tons of fresh table grapes from the Atacama region departed from the Puerto Caldera port bound for Wilmington, United States.

The Star Best ship of the Global Reefer shipping company, arrived to the port on Monday, January 14. The port operator, Carle y Cia, and Hermann Larenas Fuentealba, the operations manager of the Maritime Terminal Puerto Caldera, were in charge of the loading operation in the terminal.

"Starting the year with this volume and continuing with fruit shipments throughout January and February generates a positive projection of what exports will be like in Puerto Caldera in 2019. Soon, we'll have new boarding services for the Asia Pacific market. Our team of people and collaborators are working to ensure our boarding operation is efficient by using the best technology so that our country's products arrive in perfect conditions to the markets that demand them," stated Christopher Aliste Johansen, the commercial manager of Puerto Caldera.
