Bonduelle has entered talks with Seneca Foods to buy its Lebanon facility in Pennsylvania, US.

Used for packaging frozen products, the facility was developed in 2008 and acquired by Seneca in 2010.

It has a production capacity of 45,000t on seven packaging lines and has 140 permanent collaborators.

This acquisition includes industrial assets, frozen product stocks and the employees at the Lebanon industrial site.

Set up in 1853, Bonduelle is a plant-based food producer. Its vegetables are grown on more than 130,000ha of land worldwide and sold in 100 countries under various brand names.

The company’s European subsidiary, Bonduelle Fresh Europe, opened its headquarters in October 2018, in Lyon, Genas of France.

Since 1997, Lyon has been the hub of Bonduelle’s fresh vegetable business. The group bolstered its presence in this French region with the opening of its headquarters and the creation of a concept store.

In July 2018, Bonduelle announced the finalisation of the acquisition of Del Monte’s processed fruit and vegetable business from Conagra Brands in Canada.

The deal, which became effective on 3 July 2018, included the right to use the Del Monte brand.

The acquired business did not include all industrial and personnel assets.
