In Belgium, Lamb's lettuce volumes at auction have increased, causing prices to drop. These are consumer-friendly prices. These volumes will slowly decline in the coming weeks.
There is a good supply of tomatoes. Conventional cultivation will start now. Beef tomatoes are the most expensive at auction. Courgettes are growing quickly. There is slightly less volume than last year. This is a result of the stormy weather.
The main variety of cucumbers at auction is +350 and are being harvested while they are smaller. The difference in price between the various sizes is not as big as at the beginning of the week. The price for leeks is falling and are also consumer-friendly.
There is somewhat less chicory available. This shortage has resulted in higher prices. After a sunny spell, aubergine production began in earnest. The change is weather has, once again, halved their availability. Heads of lettuce are becoming cheaper. Red and white cabbage, however, remains expensive.
