Johnnie Walker is launching two new limited-edition whiskies based on the hit HBO fantasy series, Game of Thrones.
The launch sees the Diageo-owned Scotch brand team up again with HBO Licensing & Retail following the launch of the limited-edition White Walker brand last year.
These two new whisky blends are inspired by House Stark and House Targaryen from the critically acclaimed series based on the Song of Ice and Fire books by George R.R. Marten.
Johnnie Walker A Song of Ice will be emblazoned with a dire wolf, while Johnnie Walker A Song of Fire will feature a dragon – the house sigils for Stark and Targaryen respectively.
True to their branding, one whisky will be “crisp and clean”, while the other will be “rich and spicy”. Both are distilled in Scotland.
“Johnnie Walker and Game of Thrones are an epic pairing. There is as much for people to discover and explore within the world of whisky as there is within the world of the show,” said Sophie Kelly, Senior Vice President, Whiskies Diageo North America.
Johnnie Walker A Song of Ice and Johnnie Walker A Song of Fire will both be available Across the US this month and roll out globally starting October.
