The INR500m plant ($9m) will manufacture Sunfeast Yippee Noodles and will have a capacity to manufacture 50 tonnes of instant noodles per day.
The company plans to source the technology from East Asian countries, Japan and Taiwan, and the plant will be able to pack 450 packets every minute, reported The Economic Times.
ITC executive director Kurush Grant said that the investment is part of the company's overall plan for developing West Bengal's economic capacity through its high quality driven foods business.
"West Bengal has been home to ITC's headquarter for over a century, and we have also established several manufacturing plants that create value for the state. ITC's packaged food products with brands such as Aashirvaad, Sunfeast, Bingo! and Yippee! are gaining market share," said Grant.
Meanwhile, Keventer plans to establish a government approved food safety laboratory at its Kolkata facility with an investment of INR 350m ($6m).
