The new and special menu has foods to satiate one's various hunger moods during the day. By hunger moods we mean one's desire to indulge in something small for which there are a range of small eats, something more filling that would make for a big eat, and of course the sweet craving, the sweet eats. CCD has also introduced Combo Deals for the very first time.
The Combo Deals are destined to be a sure-shot hit among the youngsters because of the sheer range and variety of bite and beverage combinations to satisfy any hunger desire. Each Combo Deal is designed to indulge the palate, with flavours that are unique, fresh and have a global appeal. The Combos are named after their indicative price, namely Forty-Niner; Fifty-Niner, and Sixty-Niner, as well as Classic Veg and Classic Non-Veg, and Chiller Veg and Chiller Non-Veg - each combo an interesting mix of beverages, food items and sweet treats.
CCD's new menu is based on critical consumer insights, received from consumer research. The resulting menu is a selection of food items that are created specially to serve as something to munch on, something filling and something that satisfies your sweet tooth. The foods have been designed to suite the modern consumer who would prefer to engage with exciting new flavours while studying, working or at leisure at their next door café.
Explained Ramchander Raman, head, food and beverages, "Our customers are changing and we wish to go along with them. Our periodic researches show that there is a growing acceptance for global cuisines among our consumers. The new menu takes care of the latest youth food habits. On the other hand, we have carried out innovations in a few other items and made each offering fresher and more delicious than ever before."
"The thought for the new menu has been to bring in freshness and variety in an exciting new format. We have emphasised a lot on enhancing the taste, variations and varieties, introducing items that are completely new as a category," added Raman.
In the Small Eats section, there is the newly introduced Chilli Cheese Toast, a favourite breakfast or evening snack in different parts of the world. The Hot 'n' Spicy Veg and Chicken Puffs, each of them stuffed with crunchy veg or succulent chicken stuffing tossed in spicy sauce and wrapped in a crispy puff, is sure to give you a treat. Two delicious varieties of cookies have also been introduced as a tasty small bite along with your coffee.
In the Big Eats category, customers will be spoilt for choice with a variety of items to choose from. The sandwiches are delicious since they are all made out of freshly baked breads and the fillings are very unique in this category. Cafe 65 has a filling of roasted chicken with crunchy onions wrapped in soft bread topped with corn meal. The new Smoked Chicken is also a foodie's delight offering succulent smoked chicken topped with crunchy veggies in a white bread topped with chipotle. Vegetarians can dig into the delicious Tex-Mex-Veg Cheese Sandwich, a perfect mix of Mexican salsa and cheese wrapped in soft bread topped with corn meal. The new Cheesy Veg Croissant will give you a touch of French delight. The section also includes the Tandoori Paneer-filled sandwich and Tandoori Chicken Sub as well as the popular Spinach 'n' Corn Cheese Bite.
The Sweet Treats category presents a very revolutionary product called the Dessert Shot which is essentially a small bite of a dessert put together in attractive cups. Mango Shot, an Alphonso mango delight, and Belgian Chocolate Shot. These dessert shots which ooze indulgence with every bite is priced at just Rs 20, making it one of the star attractions on the new menu. Going with these is the classic Black Forest cake served in a cup. Of course the Chocolate Fantasy and Warm Choco Indulgence (now called the Café Coffee Day Indulgence) have been relaunched in a new avatar. There is also another interesting dessert called the Nutty Fudge Brownie which is an American fudge cake with crunchy walnuts.
The new menu is available at all CCD's 1,320+ cafes across India. The Combo Deals will be introduced at all cafes from June 15, 2012.
