Core Tip: Life today is fast-paced, and to keep fit, one has to consume nutritious food. India isn't immune to this positive trend either, and the proof of the fact is the numerous ready-to-eat foods, healthy snacks and confectionery brands that have mushroomed in
Meet Minnal K Dhingra, who has made foray into the world of entrepreneurship by importing chips which are made from natural fruit.

“The idea just started with my mother, who basically heads the operations in Mumbai. She is always concerned about consuming nutritious snacks,” said Dhingra, adding that snacks are consumed everyday.

Hence the idea struck the family when they visited Thailand and came across the Greenday stores, which were selling their products in every nook and corner of the country.

The products, such as fruit-based, okra and wheat, are sold at Greenday under the brand name Haware. The parent company is based in Thailand and the products were launched in India in November 2010.

It was not an easy task for Dhingra, who comes from a business-oriented family, to import these products from Thailand, but not a difficult one either. The chips were made available at Godrej's retail chain, Nature's Basket.

The range was also displayed at numerous food exhibitions in Mumbai within a year of its launch. The consumers' response to it has been encouraging, and now Dhingra plans to expand to the Gujarat market.

“We are also planning to launch prawn chips in the near future,” she trailed off and thanked the social media, which has constantly provided updates on the rapidly changing consumers' food habits and their tastes.
