PinguinLutosa, the Belgian producer of frozen vegetables, has announced that it has received unsolicited non-binding offers for its potato unit.
The potato business was acquired by PinguinLutosa for €175m in cash.
The company noted that the board and management will evaluate the offers, by assessing the merits and risks for stakeholders, and added that it will make further announcements if and when appropriate, reported Bloomberg.com.
Dutch potato firm Aviko is one of several bidders who are seeking to buy the business. The company is expected to make a decision at its next board meeting.
PinguinLutosa is a leading producer of frozen vegetables, and it competes with McCain Foods, Lamb Weston and Aviko.
