Despite being a spring onion, Goku is the size of a leek.

Nicola Williams, buyer for Waitrose, said: "Our customers love to cook and are always looking for new and interesting ingredients. Goku is a little different and perfect for lovers of Asian cuisine as it’s a staple in many Ramen dishes. The green stems are perfect in stir-fries but the advantage is the white part of the stem, which customers tend to prefer, is really long. It’s great value too."

Goku giant spring onions are pre-packed and retail at £2.99/400g (75p/100g) and are available in limited selection packs now. Pre-packed spring onions cost 88p/114g (77p/100g).
