On 15 November TNO will open a new research facility at its Eindhoven location, the TNO Drying Facility. The setup has been especially designed for research activities in the area of droplet generation and drying, as well as powder production. It comprises a 15m-high coflow drying tower equipped with a monodisperse droplet generator as well as sensors throughout the tower to monitor various process parameters.
drying facility
This unique facility allows the investigation of the effects of different drying path lengths, drying regimes, droplet diameters, solid contents and various other parameters for a wide range of food and other materials.

The facility offers companies the possibility to try out this innovative powder production technology for their specific materials and applications. The facility allows the testing of various drying and powder production protocols, and the resulting powders can subsequently be evaluated with respect to their properties and performance.

If you'd like to be present at the opening, or if you'd like more information about the drying facility, please visit our website or contact us.
