Grupo Estevez, a Spain-based wine cellar and owner of Valdespino brand, has selected Liberty Wines to represent Valdespino sherries in the UK.
Valdespino is known for their very old sherries that are aged for over 20 years and very old rare sherries that are aged for over 30 years. The brand was purchased by Grupo in September 1999 from the Valdespino family.
In the UK, the winery will roll out its Manzanilla Deliciosa, Fino Inocente, Valdespino Amontillado Tio Diego, Valdespino Palo Cortado Viejo CP, Valdespino Oloroso Solera 1842 VOS, Valdespino Oloroso Don Gonzalo VOS, Valdespino Pedro Ximenez El Candado and Valdespino Pedro Ximenez Ninos VORS sherries, reported Harpers.
Fino Inocente, Amontillado Tio Diego and Palo Cortado Viejo CP sherries are made using a single vineyard Palomino wine as a base for the wine. They are fermented in oak casks rather than in stainless-steel tanks.
All the sherries will be available in the UK from early November 2012 at a recommended retail price range from £11.99 to £39.99.
