Joao Portugal Ramos (JP Ramos), a Portugal-based winery, has launched its low alcohol wines at UK stores to meet the growing demand among consumers for lighter and low alcohol white wines.
The winery has released its premium wine Albarino at Marks & Spencer and a red wine F'OZ at Waitrose.
One among the Albraino wines stocked is Tercius Alvarhino, which is made from 100% Albariono grapes that are grown in 35,000ha of vineyards at Vinho Verde region of Portugal. It retails at recommended retail price of £9.99, reported Harpers.
The red varietal of F'OZ Vinho Regional is a blend of Aragonez and Trincadeira and also retails at recommended retail price of £9.99. It is made from grapes grown at JP Ramos estate in Estremoz.
JP Ramos winery founder JP Ramos told the website that he aims to produce some of the best wines using modern winemaking techniques from Alentejo region of Portugal.
"We are delighted to be able to apply this philosophy to creating a wine for Waitrose. We use a mixture of modern and traditional winemaking techniques, which gives fruit-forward wines with lots of character such as the F'OZ," he added.
