Pernod Ricard has lined up the third annual release of Ballantine's Christmas Reserve for the upcoming festive season.
Created by Pernod Ricard master blender Sandy Hyslop, the 40% ABV blended Scotch whiskey possesses fruit cake aromas and flavors of cinnamon, orange, raisin, candy apple and pear.
To support the 2012 release, the company is launching a Facebook app that features seasonal recipes such as mince pies and Clementine Bauble cocktails, and 'pass the parcel' game that gives an opportunity for users to win a bottle of the whiskey, reported Drinks International.
Ballantine's international brand director Peter Moore was quoted by the website saying that they are happy to offer customers with the Scotch whiskey during the festive period, when it is highly competitive for retailers.
"Our customers rightly expect fresh thinking from Ballantine's so we hope our new Ballantine's Christmas Reserve Facebook app will be well received and will help spread some festive spirit this Christmas," Moore added.
Pernod had extended the 2012 release to 15 markets across the globe including Switzerland, France, Mexico, Netherlands, Vietnam, Poland, Denmark, Bulgaria, China, Thailand, Germany, Slovenia, Taiwan, Croatia and Hong Kong.
