World of Whiskey, a New South Wales-based specialist provider of whisky sales, service and education, has signed an agreement with Scotland’s BenRiach Distillery to distribute its products in Australia.
The whiskey retailer will initially handle eight BenRiach's products including peated, unpeated and wood finished expressions in Australia.
According to the World of Whisky director David Ligoff, single malt whiskey has gained popularity throughout the world, including Australia.
Ligoff told The Shout that there has been a gradual increase in the number of boutique bars in Australia that offers wide variety of whiskies to people, who never tried them before.
"In the two years since World of Whisky opened we have seen a marked increase in malt whisky sales to the 25 to 40 year old age group," he added.
BenRiach joins World of Whiskey's existing portfolio that includes Tullibardine, Isle of Arran, Glenglassaugh distilleries and the Douglas Laing independent bottlers.
