Dhyrberg company was established in the early Sixties in Switzerland and it is considered a pioneer in the art of smoked salmon according to the Scandinavian tradition. Since then, Dhyrberg has considerably widened its offer of seafood products and specialties.
Dyhrberg Black Tiger Shrimps are produced at Vietnamese aquaculture sites certified sustainable.
The farming sites have been developed in the context of a mangrove reforestation project - the forest-shrimp programme - which aims at reforesting an area originally filled with mangroves, destroyed during the war. The programme allows farming activities under the control of the Vietnamese government forest management organisation. Farmers protect this sensitive habitat which could otherwise not be maintained reforested.
The farms were audited by an international certification body and were found to be compliant with Friend of the Sea strict sustainability requirements. The shrimps are reared without any use of antibiotics or chemicals and the sites are well managed in terms of water, waste and energy systems in place. The hand harvesting method used maintains escapes negligible.
