Iowa-based Mississippi River Distilling and Great River Brewery have teamed up to open a new tasting room.
The 7,200ft² tasting room, which will be built at the Mississippi's LeClaire site, is a part of the distillery's expansion plan that will also allow the brewery to brew specialty beers at the site.
Both the firms have previously been involved in marketing projects, where the brewery used old whiskey casks from the distillery to produce beer. Similarly, the distillery now plans to produce beer whiskey from the brewery's beer, reported qctimes.com.
Great River Brewery owner Paul Krutzfeldt told the website that the project allows the company to produce new specialty beers at second location.
Mississippi River Distilling co-owner Ryan Burchett was quoted by the website as saying that they hope to commence the project by summer 2013 and complete it by fall 2013.
