Tri Marine International officials who met with Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga last week say they were very pleased with the open communication that took place between them and the governor.
Tri Marine’s VP of production, Dan Sullivan, said Tri Marine looks forward to supporting the administration’s efforts to develop and grow the economy in American Samoa.
Attending the meeting with Governor Lolo and Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga were Joe Hamby, Managing Director of Tri Marine, Alfonso Pete Galea’i of Samoa Tuna Processors, the Tri Marine subsidiary that is operating the local cannery and Sullivan.
Sullivan said Tri Marine has major activity underway in American Samoa with the large fleet of purse seiners operating here.
Sullivan reiterated statements made last year by CEO and president of Tri Marine, Renarto Curto that the company considers American Samoa to be a major regional hub of activity for the tuna industry.
He said their additional investments in the processing side will contribute to that in a major way.
