A new exporter of bananas is seeking incentives for its new facility in Mindanao, according to a newspaper notice on Thursday.

Sarangani Agriventures, Inc. has applied for tax breaks with the Board of Investments for its plantation in Baluntay, Alabel, Sarangani province, stated the notice.

The firm is applying as a "new export producer for Cavendish bananas at a capacity of 510,000 boxes per year on a non-pioneer status."

If approved, Sarangani Agriventures - which is engaged in planting and harvesting fresh bananas for exports - will enjoy tax breaks for four years as well as duty-free importation of equipment.
