Multivac set to unveil MYLAR COOK packaging concept in US

Core Tip: Packaging firm Multivac is set to unveil the packaging concept, MYLAR COOK from DuPont Teijin Films, at the International Boston Seafood event, which will be held from 10 March to 12 March 2013.
MYLAR COOKMYLAR COOK is a thermoformable film material that has been developed for the preparation of food products such as fish and seafood at high temperatures ranging up to 218 °C in its sealed package.

The packaging concept is claimed to retain the aromas, vitamins, minerals and inherent moisture of the product during the cooking process and the constant heat transfer during the cooking phases reduces cooking time by up to 30%.

Some of the features of MYLAR COOK film include self-contained cooking system, leak-proof seals, high degree of puncture resistance.

Multivac Direct Packaging Materials group national sales manager Frank Barel said: "The Mylar® COOK film concept is unique in the market. We are delighted about the cooperation agreement with DuPont Teijin Films, with whom we have already successfully implemented several projects, including our latest with Alaskan Leader Seafoods of Seattle, Washington."
