Francis Ford Coppola Winery, a California-based wine producer, is close to purchase Geyser Peak Winery of California.
Owned by VinREIT, a division of Kansas City-based Entertainment Properties Trust, Geyser Peak Winery is known for producing fruit-forward and food-friendly wines from grapes sourced from prime vineyards in the Alexander Valley.
The transaction does not include purchase of Geyser Peak brand, which is owned by Accolode Wines, reported WineBusiness.com.
With the purchase, Coppola plans to strategically increase its volume production, which currently is above one million cases annually, according to industry observers.
Coppola also owns a winery Chateau Souverain in Geyserville, which is now known as Francis Ford Coppola Winery.
Accolode Wines currently leases the Geyser Peak facility and 98 acres of vineyard.
