Tropical Smoothie Café, a US-based smoothie chain, is set to expand its business with plans to open 40 new cafes in 2013 across the US.
The company has opened 40 franchise locations and signed 41 new franchise agreements in 2012.
Tropical Smoothie Café CEO Mike Rotondo said: "The combination of our well-managed growth plan, healthy menu innovation and effective marketing programs has set us at the forefront of the industry and continues to propel the brand's rapid expansion."
The company has also expanded its menu recently by adding vegetable smoothies made with five servings of fruits and vegetables. It has also expanded its food menu.
Tropical Smoothie Café offers consumers with a variety of real-fruit smoothies along with food items, including specialty wraps, sandwiches, grilled flatbreads and salads.
The smoothie chain operates over 336 locations in the US with additional 36 stores currently under development.
