Think Spirits, a New South Wales-based distributor of premium spirits and liqueurs, is set to takeover the distribution of Casa Cuervo's Jose Cuervo tequila portfolio in Australia from British alcohol giant Diageo from 1 July 2013.
The move follows Diageo's decision in late 2012 not to acquire Jose Cuervo brand and end the distribution of Jose Cuervo range by June 2013.
Think Spirits had already handled Casa Cuervo's Kraken Spiced Rum and premium tequila brands like 1800 Tequila, Gran Centenario Tequila and Agavero Tequila Liqueur in Australia.
Jose Cuervo Asia Pacific regional director Ian Strachan was quoted by the shout as saying that the company decided to go with Think Spirits because of its achievement in handling the company's other brands.
Think Spirits managing director Patrick Borg said, "This is a fantastic result for us and we are absolutely delighted to be distributing the full Jose Cuervo range on behalf of the Casa Cuervo Group."
