Wine producer Natural Merchants is set to introduce Pizzolato Moscato wine made with 100% organically grown grapes on 9 May 2013 to celebrate National Moscato Day.
Crafted by winemaker Settimo Pizzolato, the wine is made from grapes grown by Italy-based La Cantina Pizzolato in the Venezia Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) region, with the vineyards situated near the Piave river.
The grapes are initially subjected to soft pressing and then stored in steel pressurized tanks for two months by using the Charmat method of secondary fermentation.
The wine produced has hints of sage and peach, fruit flavors with slight acidity and frizzante effervescence.
Pizzolato Moscato is bottled at 7% ABV and housed in a colorful bottle design and label.
The wine will be available in Whole Foods and other retail locations at a suggested retail price of $12-14.
