PepsiCo is set to test its touch-screen fountain dispensing machine Pepsi Touch Tower 1.0 at five Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill restaurants in Denver, Colorado starting from next week.
The move forms part of the company's plan to compete with its arch rival Coca-Cola in offering new generation of soda machines at restaurants in the US.
Pepsi Touch Tower is a small counter-top dispensing machine with a touch screen, which enables customers to select from 100 different combinations for up to eight brands and four flavor shots.
The company has developed a broader portfolio of new drink dispensing equipment for restaurants as an alternative to existing fountain beverage machines and to compete with Coke's Freestyle machine.
PepsiCo spokeswoman Gina Anderson was quoted by denverpost.com as saying that the new dispensing machine offers four flavor shots - lemon, cherry, strawberry and vanilla - to eight varieties of drinks.
