Bibendum, a UK-based independent merchant selling wine, spirits and beers, has partnered with Miolo Wine Group of Brazil to distribute its wines across all the UK sales channels.
Established in 2005, the Miolo Wine Group is known for producing sparkling and still wines from its 1,200ha of vineyards spread across the Brazil's wine regions.
The partnership between Bibendum and Miolo is effective from 1 May 2013, and Bibendum will launch a new range of wines in summer 2013.
Bibendum buying head Andrew Shaw said Brazil has different climatic and viticultural conditions compared to Chile and Argentina.
"What is really exciting for me is the diversity of wine the country offers, from fruit-driven varietal wines to world class wines that showcase their fantastic terroir," Shaw added.
Bibendum managing director Michael Saunders said, "With the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympics on the horizon, we expect interest in Brazilian culture, including food and wine, to explode in the next few years."
Miolo Wine Group CEO and winemaking director Adriano Miolo said the company has seen their exports grow in the UK in last five years and are looking further to grow it through distribution deal with Bibendum.
"Expertise across all sales channels, from first-class restaurants to independent wine shops and multiple retailers made it the ideal choice," Miolo added.
