US-based Live Better Brands has announced the availability of its line of Simply Sprouted Tortilla Chips in Canada.

The company noted that the tortilla chips incorporate sprouted ingredients like flaxseed, chia seeds, quinoa, black beans, broccoli seeds and daikon radish seeds.

Sprouting seeds, grains and beans increases their nutrients and the natural inhibitors that protect them from digestion are greatly reduced or eliminated, resulting in improved bioavailability and better nutritional absorption.

The tortilla chips are also Certified Gluten Free, Non-GMO Project Verified, Kosher, vegan, and a good source of whole grains, low sodium, and a good source of fiber. In addition, they contain no trans fats, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Live Better Brands CEO Jim Breen said, "It all a simple vision to combine the powerful benefits of sprouting with a great tasting snack."

"We've been amazed by the response we've received from consumers in the United States and are very excited to be bringing our simply sprouted tortilla chips to Canada," Breen added.

The Way Better Snacks are currently offered in five varieties - Simply Sunny Multigrain, Simply Sweeet Potato, Simply Beyond Black Bean, Simply So Sweet Chili and Simply Unbeatable Blues.

They are available at several retailers throughout Canada, including Save on Foods, Safeway, London Drugs, Choices, Sobeys, Fortinos, Metro Quebec and Whole Foods. The new varieties will be available in Summer 2013.
