Butterkist Unveils 100th Birthday Limited Edition Range

To mark this milestone Butterkist is giving consumers the chance to win thousands of instant cash prizes with a birthday inspired, on-pack promotion.

From September 2014, Butterkist will be hiding golden birthday cards inside selected, promotional bags of its 200g and 100g Toffee, 120g and 85g Cinema Sweet, 100g Sweet & Salted, 80g Salted and 150g Sweet popcorn.

If consumers find a golden birthday card inside their pack they enter the code found inside the card online to redeem a cash prize.

Prizes range in value from £5 to £100, and Butterkist is also offering everyone that buys a promotional pack of popcorn 50p off their next Butterkist purchase.

The popcorn brand dates back to 1914 in America, where it existed during the golden age of the silver screen cinema.

Speaking about the landmark birthday, Helena Blincow, Butterkist brand manager, said:

“We’re really excited to celebrate our 100th birthday and to mark the milestone anniversary of the Butterkist brand, we’re hiding thousands of golden birthday cards inside special, promotional packs of Butterkist popcorn, giving consumers the chance to celebrate with us by winning instant cash prizes.

“The promotional packs achieve great standout on shelf and they will be available nationwide from 1 September to 31 December 2014.

“The promotion is a fantastic way for us to reward our loyal consumer’s by not only offering them the chance to win a host of instant cash prizes, from a total prize fund of £50,000, but each pack also offers a 50p coupon to be redeemed against their next Butterkist purchase.”

This autumn, Butterkist will also be building on the existing limited edition range with the launch of the new Limited Edition Salted Caramel flavour.

This new popcorn has stand out packaging to give appeal on shelf and the creamy, indulgent flavour makes it the ideal treat as darker nights draw in.

The 150g Limited Edition Salted Caramel flavour is air popped, made from wholegrain and only contains 104 calories per serving.

The Limited Edition Salted Caramel flavour popcorn has an MRRSP of £1.49 and is available from 25 August 2014 until the end of December 2014.
