Bundaberg Distilling, an Australia-based distillery owned by Diageo, is to celebrate its 125th anniversary with the launch of a new BDC 125th Anniversary Rum.
Distilled by the distillery's master craftsmen, the BDC 125th Anniversary Rum is made by blending some of the oldest and rarest rums.
Diageo said the launch of BDC 125th Anniversary Rum represents the pinnacle of all that the BDC has achieved in 125 years.
The company has produced only limited number of 1,888 bottles of the rum to represent the distillery's birth date of 22 November 1888.
BDC 125th Anniversary Rum will initially be available for purchase at the distillery from 22 November 2013 in 700ml bottle format, followed by select retail stores across the country.
Bundaberg Rum marketing manager Andrew Oughton said, "Through BDC 125th Anniversary Rum, we hope to offer Bundy enthusiasts an exceptional liquid, fit to parallel the exceptional passion and loyalty we've seen from our customers over the past 125 years."
To mark the occasion, the company has updated the label on its Bundaberg Rum Original, which will be available for purchase from July 2013. Bundaberg further plans to bring back the Bundaberg Rum Distiller's No. 3 for the anniversary celebrations.
