Morrisons has appointed former Waitrose wine buyer Katie Mollet to the role of wine sourcing manager.
Mollet will report to Mark Jarman, head of wine operations, and will be responsible for sourcing wines from Italy, Germany, Bordeaux, Loire, Alsace and eastern Europe.
She will also have responsibility for sourcing fortified wines.
She said: “I’m delighted to be joining Morrisons at such an exciting time in the company’s development. With an increasing online presence and rapidly growing sales in the convenience sector, I know that the wine team has lots of plans to develop and evolve the range. I’m looking forward to contributing to those plans and helping to deliver an interesting range of wines which provide both excitement and great value for money for Morrisons customers.”
Jarman added: “Katie has tremendous passion for the product and a wide breadth of experience gained in her previous buying and sourcing roles. I know she will be a great asset to the team and will play a key role in bringing our exciting plans to fruition.”
