Alcohol-related visits to hospital emergency rooms have increased by 38% from 2001 to 2010, according to the data given by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The report mentioned emergency room visits, including alcoholic psychosis, alcohol-dependence syndrome, alcohol abuse, alcoholic polyneuropathy, alcoholic cardiomyopathy, alcoholic gastritis, alcoholic liver cirrhosis, excess blood alcohol and alcohol poisoning.

However, the report did not include injuries caused by alcohol-induced accidents, such as falls and car crashes.

Regardless of type of alcohol consumed, anyone with an alcohol abuse issue should contact a detox center.

A team of medical experts at Harbor Village, an alcoholism treatment center, have developed individualized programs to enable clients to achieve recovery from both drugs and alcohol.

Harbor Village CEO Robert Niznik said, "If you allow an alcohol dependency to worsen, you will be endangering your life. Your best option is to check into a detox center such as Harbor Village and get the help you deserve."
