Confectionery manufacturer Cadbury Dairy Milk has relaunched its aerated chocolate ‘Bubbly’ range with pieces that are shaped like bubbles.

The new range also includes a new flavour, ‘Bubbly Strawberry’.

“We are excited to introduce the new-look Bubbly range into the Australian market and think it will really resonate with consumers looking for a delicious, aerated chocolate snack,” said Ben Wicks, General Manager Marketing Chocolate for Cadbury Dairy Milk.

The new-look Cadbury Bubbly range is available nationally in 155g blocks from 23 September 2013.

Aerated chocolate was invented in 1935 by confectionery company Rowntree’s in 1935, and introduced to the North of England. Rowntree’s Aero bar originally came in a mint flavour, but other flavours were added to the range. Rowntree’s was acquired by global confectionery manufacturer Nestle in 1988.

According to global market research organisation Nielsen’s ‘Retail World Grocery Guide 2012’, Aero commanded a 2.5 per cent value share and 2 per cent volume share of the chocolate bars segment in 2012. The Cadbury bars range, including Cadbury Bubbly, had 10.1 per cent value share and 10.1 per cent volume share.
