New Zealand-based Brancott Estate has launched a new white wine Brancott Estate Flight Riesling to its lower alcohol wine range.
The new Riesling, which has an ABV of 9%, is made using the same natural winemaking procedures as the company's other lower alcohol wines, Brancott Estate Flight Sauvignon Blanc and Brancott Estate Flight Pinot Gris.
Brancott Estate chief winemaker Patrick Materman said that of all grape varieties Riesling is perhaps the most suited to make a low alcohol style, reaching flavor ripeness at low sugar levels.
"With the resurgence of Riesling in recent years, we were curious to explore a naturally lighter Riesling for our Brancott Estate Flight range," Materman said.
The new Riesling can be paired with Asian cuisine as well as with conventional dishes such as guacamole or creamy pasta dishes.
The Brancott Estate Flight range of wines is currently available in New Zealand for an RRP $26.99.
