Good Earth Cafes of Canada, the parent company of Good Earth Coffeehouse, is planning to expand its presence across Ontario, by opening new locations.
As part of the expansion plan, Good Earth's Real Estate unit is evaluating sites in larger centers - Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa as well as mid-markets including London, Barrie, and Oakville.
Initially, Good Earth Cafes will look for multi-unit franchise operators, and later seek single-unit franchisees in smaller markets.
Good Earth Cafes president Gerry Docherty said that smaller markets supported by a university or college like Guelph and Kingston are also on the company's radar due to the unique nature of these towns and how well the Good Earth resonates with people in university-based communities.
"A Good Earth Coffeehouse franchise will appeal to people who want to feel good about what they are doing - for their own lifestyle and for their communities," added Docherty.
Currently, the chain has around 42 locations across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
