New Zealand-based Giesen Wines has released new Single Vineyards range using German Fuder barrels.
The new Fuder range includes two styles of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc that are aged in 1,000l German oak barrels.
The company now has 26 Fuders with another 30 arriving for the 2014 vintage.
Giesen Wines, owned by German-born brothers Theo, Alex and Marcel, will immediately release The Fuder Sauvignon Blanc 2011 and The Fuder Chardonnay 2011.
Marcel said that the grapes for both these wines are handpicked.
"This new range adds further dimension to the Giesen portfolio and is in response to a growing demand from restaurants, bars and fine wine retailers for something unique. There is a global demand for bespoke wines that offer something different and special in the ultra premium segment of the market," Marcel added.
