On the success of its Skillet Sauces line, launched last year, the Campbell Soup Co. has added Slow Cooker Sauces in six varieties: tavern-style pot roast with mushrooms and roasted garlic, sweet Korean barbecue with roasted ginger and sesame, apple bourbon barbecue with bell peppers and brown sugar, Hawaiian luau with pineapple, mango and bell peppers, Mexican red chile taco with garlic and sweet peppers and Moroccan spiced stew with green olives and lemon.
The products are prepared with beef, pork or chicken in a slow cooker until tender. Each pouch of sauce can be used for 2 to 3 lbs of meat to serve six or more people.
“This is a significant product development by Campbell,” said Dale Clemiss, vice-president, Simple Meals for Campbell North America. “We know that slow cooker use is on the rise, yet consumers can feel stuck using them for the same dishes again and again. Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces help enhance the slow cooker experience, and help busy cooks create delicious meals for their families, even on hectic nights.”
Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.99 per 13-oz. pouch.
